I have not seen such a thing. There are the lockable steel bin lids... you could get those for a sturdier surface/lid.

Out of curiosity, why are you looking to get rid of them?

I have a set of custom rock sliders to install where i need to drill the frame, and one of legs on the sliders won't fit with the bins in place. i may have to cut them and glue up a plastic cap to make them shorter i think that may work, or just cap the holes with something. I was hoping since there are deletes for a lot of things vehicle wise that we had something already, but it seems i'll have to improvise :)

Crawl under a truck without them and see whats there. I doubt they build different cabs for trucks with bins in the floor. Maybe a knock out panel? If you removed the bin, cut a piece of sheet metal a little bit bigger than the hole, and weld in place or glue down with epoxy or construction adhesive. Caulk and paint from the bottom and put the carpet or rubber mat back and no one knows the difference.

Could probably just replace the lid with a piece of plexi and some weatherstrip to seal it. Then you could replace the bins if you changed your mind in the future.

Looking at some of the locking covers you could probably just make and paint a metal cover that uses the stock corner holes. Add some RTV and/or weatherstripping and call it day. I haven't looked under mine in a while, but I would probably make 2 of them (One inside one outside) and RTV the one under the truck at a minimum.

I think that's just the inner insert that comes out if you want to clean them or use them for ice. My father didn't even know his 2500 had them until he saw me grab a beer out of mine one weekend.

I would just take the bins out, flip 'em upside down on a piece of aluminum, trace around it and mark the holes. Cut the plate to the size of the bin and just screw it in place on top of the floor, use a little RTV around the rim to seal it. Use either pan-head screws and give 'em a little counter-sink to make them lay flat or button-head screws. Then either cover them with a mat or paint 'em textured black to blend in with the floor. Then if you ever want, it is easily reversible....

Unless you -really- want to, I would -not- weld them in place.

You're absolutely right. If down the road the OP decides to sell the truck which is entirely possible a potential customer might find his storage bins "delete" and ask WTF is this? Make all the mods easily reversible because in most cases you won't get anymore for the vehicle if its modified and in quite a few cases you'll get less.

SEM makes a plastic repair kit look into that if you cut them. Can you move the brace forward or backwards? Another option is a thing piece of metal with seam sealer to cover the holes.

I insulated one of mine and added a drain hole-- beer is nice and cold when I get where I'm going. The other side is just handy for tow straps and oddball tools

Why on earth would you wanna get rid of them?? They are damn handy, and really, with the floor mats covering them, they are invisible

I ended up shaving the ears on the covers, will still work without them if i decided to put the bins/holders back.

The mat will cover the covers and that's it for now,Will see how that plastic sheet will hold up.

Well I decided to delete mine the other day when I ran over a T post in a farm field the other day. Care to sell the bucket, insulation and liner? Since I destroyed mine.
