I'm upgrading my front and dash speakers with the Kenwood Excelon KFC-XP6903C speakers. Will likely upgrade the rears with some Kenwood 3-ways eventually. I'd also like to kick it up a notch by adding an amp. I really know nothing about stereos, so I'm looking for suggestions. I don't want to add a subwoofer or replace the headunit. I have the basick 5" headunit with 6 speakers. I'm not looking to blow the doors off and rattle the windows. Just a nice, clean, crisp system that will crank the classic rock. My budget for an amp is around $150-200. Thoughts?

I agree pioneer, kicker, alpine. I once went to best buy and bought a 4 channel Alpine, and mononlock for about $300. Check out best buy you might find a good deal.

I keep mentioning the Kicker Key amp, but maybe it's just being ignored. This is super small, decently powerful and auto tunes with surprisingly good results, and it's like $250 for all of that. It's prefect for Ram setups with door woofers and dash speakers.

I'm not even a Kicker fan at all, but I really like the Key 4 channel amps. I was hoping the mono amps did eq too, but they don't. They just fix radios that have built in bass roll off at certain volume levels, and mine doesn't roll off the bass.

Yes toss a kicker key on the front s biamped. Leave the OEM speaker on deck power in the rear doors. Or possibly a cheaper set of 2 ways in the rear door, but still on deck power. You fight want a ton of highs coming from the back. The OEM midbass on deck power is decent, and should complement The biamped Kenwood up front

I purchased cruchfield's sound ordinance 8". I'm very happy with it. Took a little adjustment to get it right but it hits. This comes from a person that used to have 2 12" in the trunk back in the day.

Edit: i feel it's worth mentioning that I put 5mm of sound proofing membrane on the floor through out which helps this little 8"

Not really interested in a sub. I had a Kicker Sidekick in my old F150 and it was just too boomy. Added a ton of bass, but that was it.

Run the rear speakers off of the radio and use a Kicker Key to bi-amp the front door and dash speakers, and you're done.

Just FYI bass from any source should not be boomy. It should be smooth and aggressive when tuned properly.
