Good evening folks,
I started hearing a faint “tick” sound coming from my front driver’s wheel when slowing down at stops signs. Of course I had the window down. So I started looking around this evening at my cv shafts and notice a bit of play. Is this type of play normal or should there be no play, some play? I don’t know as I have heard some play is normal. I’ll attach a vid.
Thanks for any info given.

Beleive it or not that's normal. Freaks me out. I wish they woulda went with a solid setup that bolts CVs on like gm.
Glad I’m not the only one! Thanks for letting me know this is nothing I have to worry about. I wonder what the clicking is. I heard it could be a break pad. I have lots left on these pads I’m running now. Hope it not the front diff!

No clicking or anything when I turn. Silent and only hear it when I’m slowing down it will kick in intermittently. I just got down there and saw this CV shaft with some play and like “damn, that don’t look/feel right”.

When I press the brake, the clicking occurs lol I didn’t get your question, just saw “retarded” lol no rock that I’m aware of. It has been muddy/sandy so it could be. I read that it could be a loose brake pad.

It's possible I'm being retarded dont mind me lol. [emoji2957] It could be loose pads but they noamally only click once when they're popping into place. Stranger things have happened tho.

I had this issue, caliper bolts were not tight enough. Think the torgue specs are somewhere around 120ft/lbs.. if you got a torque wrench couldnt hurt to check those and the slide pin bolts.

I had a loose caliper bolt a few months ago on my passenger side and the whole truck would shake and come to a halt. Stop and go again for a few feet and the same thing. I had to crawl back to the shop I just came from. I’ll check the bolts as I just had the front shocks replaced. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just went through kind of a debacle on the way home heard little clunking got under cv shaft was sliding off so figured at least circlip failed so ordered that and a new seal and in the name of being proactive I figured I woud buy a new cv shaft (Cardone HD JUNK) too and replace it, but keep the original.

Didn't really like the amount of movement right off the bat and it would bind just spinning the wheel by hand. So I decided to try and run it and got little vibrations and clicks on certain bumps. Long story short I have the original back on with new clip and seal and it's perfect.

So in my opinion the only cv shafts I would probably ever use is Mopar or RCV!

Yeah I wish we would have an aftermarket option.

I had a vibe on my 2003 that in the end a new CV shaft fixed so when it started on my 14 I said haha I know what that is especially when I seen how much it wobbled. Wrong . Two new shafts had no effect on it in the least . I guess the positive from that is I have a pair of extra cv shafts
