I posted a longer version of this in the tech thread but need some help.

I am going to do some serious work to tie rods, UCA, ball joints etc. My last concern is the ring clamps/clips that keeps the inner tie rod baffle attached. The outer clamp is easy enough to remove and save but the inner one looks difficult to get off and may have to break it to remove it. Can the inner one be taken off without destroying it? If not, where do I find a replacement? I have looked all over the net and parts stores with no luck. My last chance may be the dealer. This is for an 2002 1500 4x4. Thanks for the help.

Whenever I have done tie rods I usually break that clip off and zip tie it back on. Never had a problem

That is what a mechanic told me to do too. I actually got a cv boot ring and put it on and clamped it tight.

Yep, you can buy those clamps at any parts stores that know what a CV Joint or Boot is and the pliers are available too, and a must have in the DIY Roller Cabinet toolbox.
