Installed a K&N intake this evening.

I just installed mine yesterday morning, LOVE IT.

May get me to hold off on exhaust for a while. I'm older now and prefer it quiet when I want it quiet. This has really changed the "feel" of the truck, sounds like it's balls dropped

Thanks. I also live on a gravel road and honestly, I didn't want to deal with an oil coating on the filter. Just means more cleaning. I was also concerned about oil particulates getting into the intake system. I could be paranoid, but I just prefer dry.

Wait a second, you live on a dusty road and don’t oil your K&N filter cause your concerned about oil in the intake? Is that correct? I’d be waaay more worried about dirt particles then oil. You get oil in your intake every time it’s running(unless you have a cc) The oil from the manufacturer is it’s whole point, to catch those particles. You’ll have a dusted engine in no time. I mean to each their own but that wouldn’t be the way I/most went.

He bought a "dry" filter that does not get oiled.
Ahh, didn’t know they even sold them. I thought k&n were just oiled filters. My bad op. Maybe I should do more research before I open my big mouth :doh2:

Does K&N sell a dry filter or is it another brand? Just curious. I'm picking up a slightly used K&N intake tomorrow so would be nice to have an option. I'm 90% paved roads but do take odd gravel tour.

It's optional at purchase.
