OR... the others are simply overpriced? I do an oil change about every 10 months so I don't sweat the price of some things. But I'm retired, wasn't always like this. And I highlighted the word cost.Ok, I am seriously curious. On Royal Purple's site this filter is $35...on the site you mentioned here, they are like $13 or so. How can this be? To my knowledge, all sites get them from RP if they are authentic, I would think it would cost at least the $13 wholesale...thoughts? Maybe fake?
"Price" is the money you pay at the check-out.
"Cost" is what you pay as the end result of your decision, good or bad.
I currently have 6 RP 20-820 filters in my garage, 3 came from the myautoparts123 site, 2 came from RoyalPurpleDirect, and one from Amazon.
All of them are identical physically, the filters as well as the little boxes they sit in, and all three have the same marking/stamping from the factory. The web site is very good at communicating, and shipping is very very quick. Use your best judgement, but I've been happy.
A person could always go to Walmart and get one of the oversize full synth Fram filters found there, the Fram Ultra Synthetic (XG prefix), or the one only found at Walmart the Fram Endurance (FE prefix). Both are very good filters and probably under $15, not counting any tax/ship fees.
NOTE: this graph is a couple years old but maybe still valid?
1. Fram Ultra Syn
2. Royal Purple
3. AC-Delco Ultraguard Gold
All 3 basically tied for 1st place. And I am not now and never have been associated with any company or organization.
