That sucks they cant get your leaks straight.

Tell me about. It seems if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.

did it make the truck alot louder?

It doesn't seem louder but a little deeper tone. I had a Magnaflow 18" Dual in/out with the built in x-pipe and had it replaced with 2 Aero Turbine mufflers because the Magnaflow droned so bad. The Aero Turbines have no drone at all. It's funny they are louder than the Magnaflow when you have your foot in it, but at other times it's so quiet I look at the tach to see if it's still running.

the aero turbines are a nice product, I agree the magnaflow drone can be a little much at times.

Actually it's louder than in the video. I've got to get a better microphone and a camera with a better one.

That sounds incredibly good! And you say no drone?
I'm really tempted to swap out my maggy!

And here I was thinking of a tuner with my Tax refund...

Sounds really good, I could go for less drone myself. I don't mind driving on the highway since it rarely drones, but in town it gets to be annoying sometimes. May have to look into doing this when I trade

Longhorn:

So here we are a little over a year after installation. What do you think at this point?

Any header gasket leaks?

Any melted hoses/wires?

Any change in fuel economy?

Any real difference in power?

Would you do it again?

Thanks!

Tick

Is there any ticking noise at all coming from the headers, or difference in sound the truck makes? I had a pair installed on my truck and it ticks like crazy now. I think it is a leak where the headers bolt to the engine block, but no one can seem to find it.

I'm having the same issue.

Mine is the same way
I think the 'tick' is the valves opening/closing. you just hear it a lot more with the headers since the cast iron manifolds muffled that sound and they aren't there any more.

Installed my JBA Headers today. Jacked up the front and put it on jack stands. Removed front wheels and wheel well liners and unbolted the steering shaft. ]

Can I get a rundown of that steering shaft unbolt? I have taken the bottom bolt out at the pinch collar, but it isn't collapsing out of that collar. It doesn't look to me that you messed with the roll pin under the dash. Do I just need to get more angry??? The shaft is keeping me from moving forward on the drivers side install. I can't squeeze my JBA shorty past it. Thanks!

I ended up not removing the steering shaft as it wasn't needed. I didn't need to remove the dipstick either but did have to bend it. Getting the y pipes out of the way helped significantly. I then somehow played around with the headers until they made it past all the obstacles. I took longer than most people i can guarantee you that. My 10 year old daughter was a big help with the bolts in tight, awkward spaces. I need to put it back in the air tomorrow and tighten some header bolts. I developed a leak after a test run. I will put the stage 8 locks on after that gets ironed out. This thread was helpful!
