Well guys, let me start by saying that I blame all of you for the mods I have done to this truck. :killer:

When I purchased the truck back in June I had every intention of keeping this one stock... then I found ramforum. Fast forward 5 months and $2500 and I removed the throttle body spacer (that I still can't believe I bought) and installed the Moes 85mm Ported Throttle Body Tuesday evening. I was considering the 87mm, but I felt that I don't have enough mods to justify it at this time, plus JJ had a heck of a deal that I couldn't pass up. I have been very impressed with the results so far. I took it for a drive that night and instantly noticed much better acceleration. It's kind of hard to describe, but the truck just felt like it ran better through out all ranges. I haven't ran enough gas through it to get an accurate reading yet, but the overhead MPG gauge jumped up several MPG during my drive, I couldn't believe it.

Yesterday I installed the DiabloSport Predator (Thanks again JJ) and everything really came to life. I feel like the hand full of parts that I have put on are all working together now and I am seeing some great gains. I am running the 93 octane tune at the moment just to see how it does. After I run a tank or 2 through I may go to the 87 tune or the fuel economy tune for daily driving. I really like knowing that I have the power on tap for if I need/want it though.

I would recommend Moes to anybody that is considering the ported throttle body, this thing really works and you can't beat the price or ease of installation. Plus Matt is just a great guy. I met him at the beach meet this past weekend and he walked me through the installation process and showed me the different size throttle bodies and what exactly he does to them... even though I didn't buy it from him!! You can't beat that kind of attitude and helpfulness. Thanks again Matt and JJ!!

Awesome! I tried the "Mileage Booster" tune on my Trinity and it did not get any better mpg than the regular 87 tune. I'm now running the 93 tune and love it combined with the new throttle body. Mpgs...what's that? lol

Yeah I'd say once you go to 37's the word "economy" isn't even in your vocab anymore lol. I'm not really trying to get better MPGs, its more that I don't really have a need for the 93 tune so there's no point in paying for premium at the pump.

Of course I say that now, after I get used to this for a couple weeks I may never go back haha

You can run the 93 tune with regular gas. The 93 tune is just more aggressive.

Are you sure? I'm completely new to the tuning, but I thought I heard that that can cause an engine knock, among other problems...

That's what I was running at the beach meet. Maybe the tune was too powerful for my CVs haha

Haha maybe so. I'm not doubting you here, but I would definitely like some more feedback on the subject to see some more opinions.

With the timing, etc with the 93 tune...I would advise against using 87 oct fuel. Not sure how u haven had any knock yet, but had a co=wrker do the same. damaged his engine.

I run the 91 tune with 93 octane. My truck seems to run better/smoother. My rpms jumped around when running the 93 tune. And I would not run the 93 tune with 87 gas.

Thanks for the responses guys. I had my first fill up with premium today and I'm having great results so far. I made about a 70 mile round trip this evening driving around 70 mph, still making conservative starts and stops, and the milage has literally shot up. I'll have to check by hand calculation after I run this tank out, but the overhead MPGs that usually read 13.5 with 12 actual has gone up to over 17. And the overhead tank milage (usually accurate) went from 320 to 400!! I would have never believed it had I not seen it myself. Like I said I'll run the hand calculations, but if this is as good as it seems, it will actually save me money to run premium fuel while also having so much more power on tap. I'm stoked to say the least

I dont know how I missed your thread yesterday. Glad the mods are working so well for you. That 85mm TB is perfect for your setup.

I would like to be the first to apololgize to your wife because you are now infected with the performance bug, and there arent many medications that can cure this...haha.

93 or higher? Does Rammageddon run on jet fuel or something? Lol

shhhhh, its a secret;)

and there is racing fuel, like 100 ocatne and a few gardes higher.... 93 is just the highest you will find at a gas station

We normally take the Jeep up to Morris Mt outside of Oxford, Al every year and those crazy Bama folks have 105 octane at most stores in town.

I always ran 93 octane reguardless of the tune on the truck. The truck just always ran better and mileage was always better with 93.
