Installing a DD in your 4th Gen

wow yeah i have never looked in to an 09+ setup. i just bypassed all the factory **** and ran all new speaker wires

I'd do that......but I like the surround sound.

3 in the dash
4 in the doors
2 in the headliner
1 sub

Thats factory, I still have the same number of speakers in there, only replaced the sub so far - doors coming soon.

i had the infinity seven speaker set up what a joke. im sure the newer ones preform a little betta. now i have the alpine 11 speaker about to be 13 speaker set up. much better

Help Wiring issues

I'm trying to install the Alpine IXA-W404 in my 2010 Ram 1500. I bought the bypasses Radio Replacement Interface C2R-CHY4 and the video bypass PAC TR-7. The only bypass I didn`t get was the steering wheel interface because I never use it nor care about it. So I wired it all up, but on my main display it shows radio off. When I hook up the deck everything turns on and turns off when I turn the ignition off. But I get no sound and the display stays Radio Off. Please help I have to be missing something so simple!

mine did that too.

There are 2, yes 2 remote turn ons. make sure they are both wired in. that fixed it for me.

Yup the 7.1 exact same as the picture in the forum. But I am not using the exisiting sub puting in a Kicker L7 instead.

Yeah I have that diagram too. I was talking about the 2nd bundle comming off of the alpine deck IXA-W404 itself. This whole install is a nightmare bypass after bypass.

I hate to say it man, I can't remember what I did.

Oh wait, yeah I do. I got pissed off at all of the stupidity, I picked up the phone and called Crutchfield. I paid them $30 for tech support. And I picked that ******'s brain for 3 hours and wouldn't let him off the phone until EVERYTHING worked. LOL........it was worth my $30.

Funny part......they didn't know that you have to cut the stuff behind the dash to get it to fit! I sent them the pictures I took above, and then about a week later I noticed on their site that the DD listings changed to say a "slight" modification needed to be made to fit the DDs.

I realize this is an old thread, but I didn't have to cut it quite that much to make it fit. It'll be a snug fit, but here's the modifications I did. All I used was a pocket knife, a Dremel w/cut-off disc and a grinding stone on said dremel.

First:

Third: Take something like pliers, a crescent, or a combo wrench and slowly bend/twist the top part of the frame towards the engine bay until you get your required clearance. It should still be a snug fit so that it adds extra support to your deck.(shows blending done with grinding stone to take edges and blend the lines together)




Finish!

0212353, where did you find the cell mount at? I've been looking for one like that, but panavise is the closest thing that I can find.
