2011 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn
The other day I went out to goto work and the electronic display (EVIC) was not working, it was just blank, but the analog gauges worked fine.
I hooked up a OBDII and found no codes. I decided to disconnect the negative battery terminal and possible reset everything and I checked the fuse.
Fuse was good, I hooked up the negative terminal and turned the key and the problem got worse, NOW the analog cluster was out along with the horn and all the radio controls on the steering column. Though, I don't recall if the horn and radio controls were working when the issue was only the EVIC.
I took it to the dealer and they said it was the instrument cluster. Tomorrow I take it in to have it changed at a cost of over $700.00.
I will keep everyone posted....hopefully there is not another issue that is causing the cluster to go bad, like a short or the dreaded TIPM.
