Good afternoon all,
I have a 22 Ram 3500 with the tow package. I bought the truck used and tried to haul my fifth wheel but found I had no brakes. Took the trailer to a dealer who checked the brakes and gave them the OK but when I went to pick it up, no joy. Took the truck to the Ram dealer I bought it from (used) and they plugged a test box in to the connectors and pronounced them both to be working properly. He showed me the test procedure in all 4 modes. Back in the day, I was a truck technician doing mostly electrical repairs. Long before Powernet or Canbus. Back then, when you moved the manual lever on the brake controller to 100%, you read 12.something at the connection for the brakes. With the Mopar test rig connected, the max output was somewhere around 6VDC and he seemed satisfied. Is this the correct reading or is Bubba Ray blowing smoke?
