interior LED problems

my 14 has factory LED interior lighting. I noticed that the map lights come on very dim when the door opens, and every once in a while flicker bright.

Is this a common failure? I assume the LED modules will have to be replaced, are they part of the overhead console or are they user serviceable?

This is a common problem. Bought my truck new and they always operated that way. The complete overhead unit has to be replaced. Some on the forum said after replacement the new unit operated the same way as the old one so I never took mine in under warranty.

There is a pretty reasonable fix for this with video on YouTube. I just purchased the lights, and an planning to give it a try when they arrive. Here's the link to the video. He goes into good detail.

I know this is an older thread, but has anyone replaced the overhead console with a non LED one ?
