So I purchased a 04 dodge Ram 1500 SLT 2WD 5.7 hemi and of course automatic transmission about 3 months ago and I’ve been having random issues where it will just die out with no warning and no rhyme or reason it just stops but starts back up instantly. The truck has had a TON of new parts and the previous owner put $5000 of parts and since I’ve had it I’ve put a new EGR, 02 sensor, a oil sensor and a bunch of suspension work it was a 1 owner truck that I bought wholesale from a dealer but I’m realizing why it was so cheap and I need help I love this truck when it runs it runs perfect, and it has no lights no codes I’ve put $950 in work in it in the last 3 weeks my mechanic thinks it could be the PCM please help!!

Its almost NEVER the pcm dont know why peopl always jump to that and waste money. Does it die when at a stop or driving? I would replace the IAC if its at a stop or when coming to a stop they are cheap

it does it mostly at a stop or low idle very very randomly happened once backing out of Lowe’s, another parking, idling at a stoplight, and waiting at the car wash, then today parking at work stopped while creeping into the spot

Yea I would replace the IAC it controls the low idle which its built into the throttle body on this year so you will need to replace the whole thing i see them for $100 or so aftermarket on rockauto

Low trans fluid. Makes Torque Convertor stay in lockup mode and low idle can't overcome it.
