I'm planning to do some back country exploring/camping. On my moto I had a set of GPS Tracks that I'd import into my Garmin. In hindsight, probably shouldn't have sold that.

Anyways, there's a few GPS Apps that support Tracks. An iPad would be a nice and very viewable. I know there are a ton of Ram mounts. But I'm not sure where I could safely mount it in the truck. My big concern is not being in the way of airbags.

I searched, but couldn't find anything. Has anyone done this?

That wouldn't quite work. But it helps a lot in identifying areas I can modify to create a mount!

thanks

Just a heads up if you were not aware. Only cellular iPads have GPS chips so if you need to purchase that yet, be sure to get a cellular model.

Kind of true. The non cellular models are still capable, just not as capable.

I think with the addition of my phone, I'll be able to generally pinpoint locations. But yes, cellular would give better user experience.

Right, you need wifi for location services. The cellular versions have their own GPS that works even if cellular is not present.
