I got my 2019 Ram yesterday. So far, love it. But one thing that really surprised me is that the phone must be physically plugged into the truck in order to stream music. My phone paired instantly, literally as soon as I turned it on. It was great. But when I started playing music...no go through the stereo. Figured I just dicked something up but no.

So my question, does anyone make a 12V docking station that you can plug into the USB on the truck and then just set your phone down on? Obviously, it would have to mount to the truck in some fashion in order to keep it from flying around. But it would be great to just park your phone on a dock as you fire up the truck and buckle up.

Does anybody have any ideas??

Are you trying to stream with Amazon music, Apple music, etc? If so you shouldn't have to physically plug the phone into the truck to do that it. If your phone is paired to the truck it should play through bluetooth no problem. I have a 4th gen and mine does, so. Also you have a 5.7 HEMI.(you have 5.8 Hemi listed under your name) When I think of a 5.8 the first thing that comes to mind is Ford's 351 Winsdor.

OK great.

I was trying to stream both iTunes and Amazon music. No joy. Perhaps I just dicked something up. It makes sense that it ought to be fine just using B-tooth.

So, allow me to look into it more. This is only day two. I'd love to skip the plug.

Question....will it also display WAZE through BT or does that need the umbilical?

My 2019 plays without the cord by using Bluetooth. I prefer to use the cord though because the album art doesn't show via Bluetooth. This is my experience playing the hundreds of songs I have on my iPhone. Pandora streams fine through my Bluetooth but without album art. Waze works with the cord but not Bluetooth for me. As far as I know, transmitting video over Bluetooth is not supported by very many apps out there. Not just for streaming to Uconnect but to any Bluetooth receiver.

Waze needs to be plugged in. It’ll be on the screen after you touch CarPlay. Pandora, iHeart Radio, SiriusXM are some others that will show up if you have them on the phone.
You may have more than one page when you activate CarPlay. If you see dots on the bottom, swipe left to bring up the next page to see other apps.
For some reason, my SiriusXM is on page 2 by itself, and Waze is on page 3 by itself.

Operator error. I did not realize that you had to go to page 2 on the left side and select the input, the phone.

Thanks all!
