I currently have a ‘16 ram 2500 and really like this truck. I have had very few issues. I am thinking about getting a ‘19 Ram 1500 and have seen several posts about issues with the 19 model. Are their any 19 owners that are happy with their purchase?

I traded a 2016 Ecodiesel for a new body 2019. I love the truck. Have a little over 3,000 miles thus far (2 months). Only issue I have is shifts when in mmds to standard in city. Fuel mileage decent for an 8 cylinder.

I bought mine in Nov and absolutely love it!
Never had more compliments on a truck either...
I work 3rd shift and the LED headlights are awesome, even in the big snowstorms I was forced to slog through this winter.

I agree. Once you go LED nothing else compares favorably.

I absolutely hate mine with the exception of the headlights, the big rear console, and the rear reclining seats. I traded in a '16 1500 crew cab sport 5.7 hemi on a '14 2500 Mega Cab diesel. The diesel couldn't stay on the road for more than a day or 2 without something breaking. I complained to the dealer and begged for my truck back. After multiple attempts of fixing the issues. The dealer didn't want to lose a sale, of course, so they got me into a '19 1500 crew cab laramie 5.7 hemi (we can discuss why I rushed into the '19 another day). I would absolutely take my '16 back every single day, and twice on Tuesday.

Almost 9,000 miles on the '19 and I still feel the same way. Here is a few reasons I dislike it in comparison to the '10, '13, and '16 I've had. Most notably the '16.

-Anytime I open the tailgate, I have to slam it, otherwise I get a notification on the dash that it is open, even when it is not. Speaking of the tailgate, it is now a button to open, rather than a latch, which probably contributes to the "open tailgate" message.

-A "Laramie" doesn't have bed lights, but the '16 sport did?

-Cargo light won't work unless a door or the tailgate is opened? '16 button allowed it to work at all times.

-Loved the sunroof in my sport, this laramie doesn't have one. (not really a Ram issue, just personal choice)

-Absolutely hate the tow mirrors, the sport had automatic folding mirrors, this laramie doesn't.

-Automatic high-beams shut off for every single f**k**g road sign, or porch light in rural Nebraska with no cars for miles!

-The automatic wipers have a mind of their own, dust will make them go high speed.

-Its a pain in the a*s hooking my boat up because I can't leave the door open while hooking up to it or the park brake locks and won't let me move until the door is shut, truck placed in park, and then back into gear.

-4-8 mpg hauling my boat, FOUR!

-Passenger cannot plug their phone in without it going to "CarPlay," same with one of the two ports in the rear. I do like the CarPlay feature for GPS though, the navigation built-in sucks around here.

-I always left my iPod in my '16 and connected. It didn't matter how long the truck was off, when I turned it back on, the iPod continued right where it left off, in this '19 I have to unplug it, and plug it back in every start of the truck, and it restarts the shuffle.

-Already have a belt squeak sound coming from the engine compartment somewhere when pickup is in gear.

-Paint quality is JUNK! I have not taken this truck on a gravel road once, and it has more rock chips on the factory fender flares with factory tires than the '16 and '14 mega cab with off-road tires combined!

I'm sure there's more than this, and to some people these things may not be huge issues, but a lot of them are a big deal to me. The cheaper and better equipped sport was a much better pickup. We've reached the day where so many people buy these trucks for commuting, that they no longer make them for people who actually haul anything more than luggage. As soon as I don't have negative equity, or can find a good enough deal to make up for the negative equity, this thing is GONE!

Love it! I just came out of 2017, it was a great truck but the 19 is more refined and certainly rides better even with the off road package. The interior is also nicer. home 1.JPG
This is my 6th Ram, I currently have a Big Horn, Northern Edition, it has a lot more features that you'll need to get use to but you can also turn a lot of them off if you don't like them.

Being that it has the same basic drive train I don't foresee any mechanical issues.

I love my 2019! I've got almost 3,000 miles on her and I continue to smile when behind the wheel. Sure, there are a few things that could be different/better, and my 12" touch screen has gone screwy a couple of times (sitting for a 1/2 hour or more fixed it both times), but it's been great so far. It's been better mile-for-mile than my 2015 F-150 ever was. My 2011 F-150 was great, until all the goodies started going out on it (sunroof, rear slider, touch screen, all broke less than a year out of warranty).

I’ve had my 2019 Ram Bighorn for about 2 months now and have 1600 miles- first Ram I’ve owned. So far I really love this truck. My previous truck was a 2011 Toyota Tundra. Before buying the Ram I test drove the Chevy and Ford, but was convinced by my salesman to drive a new Ram (they sold both Chevy and Dodge). One drive in the Ram and I was sold.

The ride is so very comfortable and the cab is really quiet. Of the 1600 miles, 1000 of it has been towing our boat (2019 Yamaha AR210). Mileage when averaging 60-65 was 12.8 mpg. When averaging 70-75 I got 11.8 mpg.

Anyways, we are very happy with our Ram..no complaints at all. Like mentioned above I drove all other brand trucks (at dealers and family members with new Chevys and Fords). The Ram hands down blows them all away.

Got my 19 Limited. It's one of the most loaded vehicles I've ever owned.

My truck seems to ride a little firm but that isn't bad. So far it's been a treat to drive.

I totally agree with the issues on the automatic headlights - they do suck. They constantly go on and off for the least little thing. I too live in a rural community.
The first time I was backing up and opened my door for a clear view the thing slammed into park! I had no idea what was going on. I actually thought something had broke! I hate the fact that I cannot open my door and back up.
Also, the headlights in my GMC were much brighter. I am not happy with the headlights.
The Uconnect is nowhere near as user friendly as the OnStar system. I would get notices of accidents with suggested re-routes via OnStar; not so on Uconnect. That was a handy item since I travel a lot.
I will give the Laramie an A+ on interior comfort (although I do wish the seats would go up just a little higher - I'd like a better view of my front end)
Basically, everything dmaw2308 said I agree with. I am experiencing the same complaints and am planning to go back to a GMC more than likely next year.

I hope I'm wrong on this but I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a regular thing in the industry. FCA was the first (I think?) to do it because they got sued for someone running themselves over with their jeep, but these "safety" features have a way of spreading. I personally don't care about being able to do it, the reverse camera and mirrors are plenty for me when backing into or up to anything (haven't opened a door while moving since I've had backup cam/good mirrors, sometimes I do it on my 66 Buick that has one tiny drivers side mirror). However, I don't like having more and more of these safety features and auto driving stuff, I like driving the damn car or truck regardless of what it's going to try to do. Unfortunately, this one probably isn't going away.

My third RAM, first two were Gen 4. This 2019 Laramie Sport with all the best options is in my opinion, the best riding and driving pickup I've owned (Ford, Chev, RAM). The options included for the money far surpasses Chev and Ford and also a bit better than GMC when I did a head to head comparison with what was available to me.

Timing is everything and it just happens to be end of model year closeout time now, right? Sticker of $61k, discounts brought that down to $48,400 with every option that I wanted and then some.

I actually had two Silverados picked out and thought I just had to decide between the two. My last truck was a Chev 3500HD because I needed to do some heavy hauling for a couple of years and found a great deal on a new Duramax\Allison dually. The Silverado was a very nice truck and almost made me forget about RAM.

Well, just one quick test drive in this RAM truck totally threw a wrench in my plan to pick up another Silverado. The RAM has a superior ride, just for starters. Super quiet cabin with the frame vibrators and Harmon-Kardon noise cancelling. My wife drives a 2019 Cadillac and she is jealous of the RAM interior build and the quiet ride. My truck has just given me 17.5 mpg on a 65 mph 120 mile highway run. I'm very happy with that considering there is only 350 miles on the drive-train.

Summary - So far, very happy. I can see why it's the 2019 Motor Trend Truck of the Year.

18 years of Fords and now my first RAM. I've been very happy with my mine.

There's a software update to help with that. My truck did that on occasion (along with the Parksense dinging for no reason) and now everything seems to work fine after the software flash. It's TSB 08-047-19.

Do you have the 22" rims? Looks like it......that means you are running a scant 45 series tire. When you replace your tires you can change from the 285/45/22 and go to a slightly taller 275/50/22 which would give you just under another 1/2" of rubber w/o much change in revs per mile. 2.3%

Yeah I plan too once I need tires. That'll be a few years I hope!
