Is there any way to get the nav to shut up about the accident up ahead?

I was driving home from a 300 mile trip and my nav would not shut up about an accident ahead. I kept yelling.... "YES, I KNOW, YOU SAID THAT ALREADY" but that didn't help. It also kept prompting on the screen... "Would you like an alternate route?' I pressed NO. 1 minute later, popped up again. I pressed NO again. This happened every 2 minutes, most of the way home. Is there a setting that I'm not seeing to where I don't want it to show alternate routes?

The reason I want it off is that I pressed YES, thinking it would shut up. It told me to get off the expressway. So I did and it put me a a 2 lane highway, through a 1 horse town... with bumper to bumper traffic, sitting at a very busy intersection, because everyone else got off too. Took an hour to travel 9.6 miles. Worst part is is I had to peeeeeeee really bad and there was no where to stop. I was much better off doing 35mph on the expressway.

There should be a setting to disable traffic alerts in the Nav screen.

OK. I'll look again when I'm just sitting in the driveway. I looked while I was on my trip, but I was pulling a trailer and was in heavy traffic, so I didn't want to get to distracted.
