I got my Method NV 18x9 +18 and Milestar Patagonia MT 35x12.5. I used the Tazer Ram to calibrate the odometer. I assume entering the new tire size also adjusts shift points? The speedometer seems to match what is on my Waze app, so that looks good to go. If I understand right the new tpms will auto sinc in 40ish miles.

I really haven’t noticed much if any feeling of lost power, and I was driving very conservatively, but the mpg didn’t really seem any different.

As far as noise level this is my first set of Mud tires (besides stock) so haven’t experienced loud tires, but the stock duratracs seemed completely silent, where the Patagonias are louder. Not bad, but I can hear them. That was one of the main things YouTube reviewers would say is that they are the quietest mud tires they’ve ever heard (so far nope). They do look freaking awesome though!

I thought so too, but after driving about 20 miles I got a disconnected message. I watched a YouTube video from Custom Offsets that’s said it takes around 20 miles of driving to forget the old sensors and about 40 more to learn the new ones. We’ll see.

perhaps aftermarket sensors need 20miles. factory units are linked before you get out of the neighborhood. thats been my experience anyways

i strongly recomend only new in unopened bag, current manufacture date, oe sensors. they cost more but theres no question of their legitimacy. they do have a warranty also

the $10 oe sensors from ebay is a gamble. they might work or might not. for 3months or 3 yrs. hard to say. usually they are many years old . new old stock maybe.

aftermarket sensors i have no experience

I bought these wheels and tires pre mounted from Custom Offsets. I don’t know what kind of sensors they use, but they are a $179 option so surely they’re not cheapos. I don’t know where that idea came from. Anyway I’ll be driving the truck tomorrow so we’ll see if it sorts out on it’s own.

$179 is about what new oe sensors cost, depending on the dealer. $165 i recall at local dealer near me. so ya i would hope they installed top of the line parts for you. if they have trouble linking up then you may have to break down the tires and put in new sensors. custom offsets should be fully responsible for that additional cost but whether they pony up is hard to say.

From my experience the sensors link up pretty quick, as is within a 1/2 mile of leaving the tire shop.

I came "this" close to going with the Patagonias on my Jeep, but finally opted for the BFG KO2's. IMG_1189.JPG

I drove about 80 miles and they never linked up, so I called Custom Offsets and they said to take it to Discount Tire and they’d get it working for me and they’d reimburse me for the cost if any. They were extremely nice and helpful. I confirmed with Discount Tire (also an awesome company in my experience).
It’s funny that I’ve heard multiple times on YouTube that Duratraks are loud, but on my truck they were silent. Yet all of the Patigonia reviews rave about being super quiet. Let’s just say if I take the family on any road trips I’ll swap the stock wheels/tires back on for a more relaxing environment. With the tire hum it’s hard to hear what my kids are saying from the back seat, and I have to turn the radio up louder than I’d like to hear the music. Around town isn’t too bad, but on highway it’s a bit annoying.

that sound you hear is the difference in Mud Terrain vs All Terrain in your first post you said the stock tire was m/t but if you bought the truck new you would see that the PW comes with the Duratrac A/T just like the KMO A/T they will be quieter then any M/T you can buy.

Alright, that explains it. I know it’s also stupid but I didn’t check tire pressure on the new tires because after the install I saw that the display said 62-65 but I didn’t realize that was for the stock tires, and the oem tpms hadn’t been forgotten by the truck yet. Long story long, I just checked and they’re at 35 psi and that will probably be contributing to loudness. I’ll report back after an air up and some driving.

Ya, the sidewall says max cold 80psi so I was thinking 65 would be good since that’s what the stock tires are ran at, but maybe lower as you say. I’ll see what discount tire recommends for this particular tire.

ya i wouldnt pay any attention to the jelly beans at discount tire. if your not hauling much youll want the pressure way down. do chalk test and see for yourself.

I was going through the posts and getting ready to ask what the tire pressures were. Will be interesting to hear the outcome but generally low tire pressures will make mud tires a lot louder. This is because there is a lot more tire/tread hitting the road at the same time, plus there is more force on the larger outside lugs which are slapping the pavement.

IMO the Duratracs are more aggressive than the BFG KO's, and louder. I ran two sets of 285/75R16 BFG KO's (basically the same size as the stock Duratracs on the PW) on my previous truck and thought they were very quiet even when completely worn. When I bought my PW it had 26,000 miles on the stock Duratracs with very even wear and decent tread left and I thought they were pretty loud. Keep in mind I've ran multiple sets of mud tires on different trucks, including a couple sets of bias ply Super Swampers which pretty much set the bench mark for road noise.

I called custom Offsets again and they said they’ve been having some problems with their sensors and new Rams . They said to get an email from Discount tire stating that the Tpms were not working and they’d send some new sensors for them to install and they’d pay up to $25 per tire to have them changed out. I said I didn’t think that would be a good idea and the outcome would most likely be that they send new sensors and I’d have to get them installed and they would probably still not work. They agreed and I asked if I could have Discount tire install their own sensors and I’d send the faulty ones back to Custom Offsets for a refund and they were fine with that. It’s a big hassle, but Hopefully it will soon be resolved.
