Just went full retard on the wifes JK. The best part is I had to buy the Carrier & Pinion Bearing Puller Clamshell kit do do this job.

- Yukon 4.88s with master install kit.
- Yukon Grizzly Locker for the rear
- Curt Spectrum brake controller
- 315/70/R17 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT All Terrain ( 35s )
- And a Nice Jayco 10RK Off-road camper. Picking it up Saturday.

My Sh!tbox Ram was fun in the mountains, but way too big. So the truck will become my dedicated Hunting rig and setting up the JK instead for our adventures.

I will miss tent camping, did it all my life. But Its time to set up an off-road camper as im not getting any younger. and it will allow us to travel more and enjoy retirement.

FWIW the 3 piece hardtops are a lot quieter than predecessors, and you can also get a hardtop headliner in there as well. trim level dictates which ones can be body color vs black contrast, however.

4Runner is on the list of possibles.
If you’re not going to use the potential in a wrangler, either top down or hard core off-road, the Yota is FAR nicer DD.

Why not rent one of each for a day or a weekend and do some road trips? It’ll be illuminating.

This is from the perspective of a hard core off roader. I go with Jeep, but only for the off road performance. A ****box Kia is better on the pavement.

I know what I'm doing Tomorrow. The JK is now on 35s

I also finished the kitchen, just waiting on the new sink to show up. As well as the rest of the Packout stuff

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I live rural eough that there are only 4 car rental agnecies within a 2 hour drive of me and none of them have a 4 Runner in their inventory.

I've got both 2D JK and 4runner, and drive the 4runner way more than I do the JK. The JK is very fun to drive and bought it to replace the motorcyle, but any spare time is spent on our boat with Ram pulling it so it's time to switch gears. In fact I'm selling my 07 JK soon with 6spd manual 4x4 and still under 50K.(not a typo) Just don't drive it enough to keep it any longer.

Well First trip in the Rockies was a success, 4.88 gears did the trick as well. Nothing like breaking in gears pulling a RV in the rockies. :anitoof::anitoof: Ended up changing the diff oil in my parents driveway. Was able to find some Redline 75w140 !

The shift points are garbage while pulling. ended up shifting manually most of the trip. So time to get it unlocked and tuned.

Yesterday the wife blew out a ball joint on the JK. So I had no choice to upgrade to the 1 ton steering kit... lol...

Just spent 9 days with a 2024 Wranger Sahara, playing around in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. The interior updates were really nice and it was the best driving Wrangler I've experienced. I think the Bronco has made Jeep up their game.

My old '12 JKR is still going strong with 147k well used miles on it. We've taken this thing to Moab, Rausch Creek, Uwharrie, mountains all over the east coast, wheeled the hell out of it. Never let us down.

Just put a whole Metal Cloak suspension and HD steering on it last year.

My Wife said the snorkel was shaking at high speeds. Hopefully this should solve the issue. :anitoof:

Waiting for paint to dry to slap it back on... :buffer:
