Hi, I have just bought a 2004 Ram 1500 2wd 4.7L

It does need some work but its drivable with minor problems.

question I do have while looking for parts, it asks for engine, & the 4.7 comes as "Flex" or "Gas", how do I know which one I have??

Welcome, ask the dealer close to you.

Usually on the tailgate is a badge that says flex fuel. But to verify have the dealership run your vin.

Ok will goto dealer & ask.

I want to see what kind of rear axle it has (posi - Limited Slip or open)

Ok went to dealer & got a VIR
I do think its an open rear end, All gas engine.
Got 4 pages & they sell a lot of chrome covers - handles, trim.
So will be doing that in the summer.
