The first oil change I did (on the oil that came in the truck from the dealer), I was at 7200miles on the odometer and it showed 10% oil life on the EVIC.
So there wasn’t 14k on the oil. There’s 14k on the truck? Basically 7k miles on each of your first 2 oil changes? I think you wrote the something wrong on your oil analysis slip they clearly think there was 14k on your oil. Now that you’re approaching 23k your minder will be telling you to change the oil for the 3 time correct?

Every ram or dodge durango that we have owned has always been that if the manual says to change oil every 8000 miles like it says for my 6.4 hemi 2500, the oil life indicator follows that almost perfectly...meaning that when it is at 50% I would have driven 4000 miles. When it is at 0% I would have driven 8000 miles. It has never changed based on driving habits or towing or anything. My wife's durango is the same, but based on a 10,000 mile interval. Even all the cummins engines I have had before this 6.4 hemi were the same.

Looks good, I've been getting my reports since my truck was new and do it every change. I'm up to 12k on my changes now and I'm sure they will tell me to push them out even further lol. Amsoil did great and so goes the Pennzoil ultra platnium (natural gas). I try to get whatever is on sale which is normally the Penn ultra and a Boss or M1 filter.

My ram calls for 5k blend oil changes, my EVIC now trends towards 10k for oil change on its own... I wonder if it learns your change habits as I have been doing about 10k an oil change.

Im not trying to be an ***, But whats with all the trying to get high mileage out of your oil when your truck costs $80k+ and your oil change is $100.bucks. I have mine changed every 5000 miles thats $2000 for every 100,000 miles. Not understanding the waste to pay for a test at 10,000 miles and run the oil for another 10,000 miles. Whats this test cost anyway...The price of a oil change...

Most guys pay for the oil test regardless of mileage. So thats a moot point.

Truck might cost 80K but its still the same ****** 5K HEMI... lol...

and a RL with RP filter oil change is 250$ CDN so when UOA show its still good its a waste changing it .

It's a low cost versus cam and lifter failure I use redline and yes it's expensive but it's cheap insurance

And those peoples opinion on oil is irrelevant.

You do realize a 1Gal jug of RL in B******K nowhere Alberta is 90$ + Freight . and the RP Filters I need to get off Amazon.com and shipped up here.

But thanks for posting a US link for oil . The funniest part of that is this

65.62 US is 90.01 Canadian :upyours:

Ill stick with 3k and let others destroy their engines.Especially when amsoil does the same torture tests. But thanks anyway.
Agreed. Not sure what's up with trying to save the cost of an oil change on a $30k plus truck ... or is everyone doing the long intervals for the environment? I'm a 3k-er myself OR 6 months, whichever comes first. I do the oil change in my garage, always have, always will - I guess until I'm too old and/or physically can't. I actually find it to be a 30-45 minute therapeutic experience! It would be 15 minutes, but I like to let it drain until the drops have nearly stopped or a least < 1 drop per 10 seconds.
