Pics will be sent tmrw mrng. It was easy. Read the directions ahead of time and you can do half the things before you even open the hood. The crankcase vent tube supplied was the only problem. It's a stiff hose and when you make the extreme bend to attach it you get a kink even after following the instructions to alter the stock one. I went up to the store and grabbed s 90 and it's much cleaner. Takes about 2 hours.

No *********

I didn't expect much from the K&N CAI compared to what they claim. I leveled my truck 2.8" and put on 35x12.5 20 toyo's and lost 2mpg city and 4-5 highway. Truck wouldn't shift into 8th gear due to the extra wind resistance and the larger tires. Added the K&N and felt the kick in the power and the cool sound under the hood right away. Now I've drove the same route I have driven for 18 years to work and gained the 2mpg right back from the level and tires. Back to 14.4mpg city. For the short period on the highway so far it shifts into 8th again. Can't wait to drive to the cabin to test the highway mileage. Got 15.5 the last trip for hunting without the K&N. We'll see. I'll update. Going in two weeks to grab the quads. K&N's BS seems true so far.

No but it's relative. I am basing the before and after mpg off the the dash. May not be dead on but if it's off then it is off the same before and after.

I'm considering a K&N 63 series. Though I'm wondering about lag or face plants, when you are in motion then go full throttle. Previous SUV would have a 1-1.5 second stumble when you dropped the hammer to pass. Although there was noticeable improvement in acceleration with full throttle the roll-on had to be slow, or it would would be uncomfortable...

Thanks,

Have the kn on my 15. Smooth as silk,no lag, No real performance gain I can tell without going to the track, mpg, not sure, but its lousy so I doubt it, but it sure sounds great when I hit it! I like this sound much better than the droning muffler I had on it.
