So like an idiot I didn't pay attention to the cable I ordered. I saw "2018" and "1500" in the same sentence and selected it. Well I ordered the 2500 harness instead of the 1500 I needed. I fired off an email to Koadtech with the same question. Am I still able to use the cable with a modification or do I need a different one?

He is really good to deal with. If it won't work I would bet big that he swaps you for the one you needed.

just by looking at thier website, im gonna say you need a different one, simply because they list one for the 2018 1500 and all the classics, as well as two seperate 2500s ones, so unless you have a '19 up 1500, and bought the cable for a '18 2500, i dont think it would work

I had a similar issue, except I sold my truck about a month after buying my harness so I wanted to swap a 1500 harness for a 2500. Sent them two or three emails and they never answered any of them. Ended up selling it on the forum. If he doesn't answer your emails let me know as I still need one for my 2500.

Is the harness for a 2018 1500 (with the two white plugs)? I have sent a couple emails over the last couple days to no reply hence posting here. If I don't hear back in the next few days I'll probably trade with you. The one I have is the option "2018 2500+ AND 2019 - Current 1500 (Not Classic)".

I wonder if @Mpgrimm2 could answer your questions, let's see if he chimes in

I sold it a couple months back, but yes I think that's the one I had. I just double checked and there is a 2018 2500 and a 2019 and up HD, which I think I would need the 2019 and up as my truck is a 2021.

I think he might be off for a few days, iirc.
Popping in briefly while out of town...

Obd port Connectors (for Can IHS) are definitely different on 18ram1500 (& classic) vs 18ram2500, I can't recall exactly since I'm not home with the info.

I know @DeereGuy (Koadtech /Mike D.) is quite busy with regular job, farm, & Bypass harnesses... Hopefully you will hear back from him soon.

I'll give him a bit. Would hate to order another harness when I could exchange it.

The harness I have has one green plug and one white plug. If I don't hear from @DeereGuy in a week or so I'll sell it to you if that's the harness you need.

Do you still want/need the harness? I haven't heard back and would sell it to you if you want.

So I still haven't heard back from Kaodtech and don't know what to do with this harness. Would anyone know how to modify it to work with a 1500 or should I just toss this in the trash?

Put it up for sale with an accurate description of the vehicles it covers. Lots of guys are looking for them.

Need to get to 100 posts first. Time for me to start getting more active here. Worth a shot though.

Honestly, i had no idea about the 100 post limit. Being in Canada I would never post a for sale. That said, i sold a guy on here from New York, my 2500 takoff tow hooks for basically the cost of mailing based on a thread and discussion. Was basically just helping a guy out with takeoff stuff I had no real use for. Hopefully it works for you.

the 100 post rule is 45 degrees before top dead center (that is R E T A R D E D, in case your wondering, but you cant use that word here)

when i needed to hit mine i just went on every post i could find to stir the pot
waste of bandwith and losts of people with ugly wheels got that pointed out, but thems are the rules
