I have a 2013 ram 1500 sport with the keyless enter-n-go system. Whenever I leave the truck with the key fob in my pocket the truck will honk a few times then shut off. Is there a way to disable that feature? Also, my truck has an aftermarket remote start system so I was wondering if that is causing my problem.

It’s most likely your remote start causing the problem. What you’re describing is not an OEM function.

So you have the push button start? I believe there is a setting for it. i get out of my truck with the FOB in my pockets all the time (like at a gas station). The only thing my truck does is inside the truck it "dings" saying no fob.

aftermarket remote start will not do this.

Yes I have the push button start but a Python remote start. Nobody's truck I know if does this that's why I was wondering if the aftermarket remote start was messing with it

So do you not turn the truck off before exiting it??? I know my truck has a setting that turns on/off the horn honk & flashing lights when locking/unlocking my doors.

Are you sure you aren't hitting the panic button and then shutting it off when you lock the door? I see people all that time that consitantly hit the buttons in their pocket.

Aftermarket wise, if you are just getting out of the truck, it should not honk.

How far away are you walking from the truck. As far as I know, if you walk out of the truck with the keyfob in your pocket, it will chirp at you and ding inside but it should continue to stay running.

I have walked away and back into the house before with mine and it stayed running.

It starts chirping the horn at me as soon as I shut the door. I can be standing right next to the truck and it will chip at me a few times then the whole truck shuts off, motor and everything

Weird, have you tried replacing battery in fob?

Yeah that is not normal. It should not shut off once it is already running, even if the fob leaves the truck. Sounds like an electrical gremlin of sorts.

Also sounds like it's making the same noise as when you exit and try to lock your truck from the button on the door handle while the fob is still in the vehicle. Never personally done it with the vehicle running, but hope that is of some sort of use.

I'm betting it's the python causing the issue, it sounds a lot like what my Camaro does when my wife leaves her d*mn purse in the car and we get out to go into a store. The car senses that fob and honks rapidly 3 times saying it won't lock because of forgotten fob. I'm thinking it's what ever Python is using to tell the truck to remote start, it's just a guess though. I remember my 06 had an immobilizer key and needed a special "key fooler" around the ignition switch to enable it to remote start.

If it only happens when the door is shut, it almost sounds like the Python is already armed and the shock sensor is giving you the first stage alert. Is the siren for the alarm and horn for the car different?

No, the Python system uses the truck's horn not a separate siren. It stops honking as soon as the engine shuts off. Also when it is chirping the horn the lights don't flash, it's just the horn.

I am confused now. I thought it honked when you left the vehicle and shut the door, but it honks while the engine is on?

When I leave the vehicle and shut the door with the engine running. If I shut the truck off before I get out it doesn't honk or anything
