Kicker speaker comparison

What is the difference between these 2 guys:

Kicker 40CSS654
Kicker 40CSS654 6-1/2" component speaker system at Crutchfield.com

Kicker KS6.2
Kicker KS6.2 KS Series 6-1/2" component speaker system at Crutchfield.com

I'm looking pick up one of these guys today.

If you are going to amplify them, I would go with the 40CSS654.
If you are running them off the deck power, I would go with the KS6.2

The KS6.2 has a 1" tweeter as opposed to the 3/4" of the 40CSS654, but my guess is you'd not be able to hear the difference in that. It really comes down to which will perform best for how you'll be using them.

well i have a pioneer head unit installed...so will that make a different? Only time i'm goin to go with an amp, its for my subs...whenever the hell i have money for that.

The 40CSS are the newest line, just released. the KS still sound great off HU or amp, same for 40CSS, but try the newest, get the 40CSS654...oh, and KS have a larger tweeter...3/4" to 1".

You're looking at crutchfield. They'll tell you if they have fitment issues.
My thought is either should work just fine.

Both will sound nice of the deck (Pioneer or otherwise).

after ordering those component speakers...i'm gonna save up some money for a sub...I have 2 -12" alpine SWE1243 that I want to get a box for....then throw my alpine amp in and i'm done with my audio...so this weekend, I will put these door speakers...then i'm going to find a box to put my 2-12' in subs. Hopefully I can get a box that can fit my speakers... according to the web the mounting depth is 5 5/8 inches...so I have to find something like that.
