My friend bought two kicker es693 speakers on a good deal and went to install them and cut the door support keeping the speaker from sitting in the hole i was just wondering if this was still stable and safe or if he really did a dumb thing

I believe thats the support for the windows to slide up and down almost all door supports are horizontal. I put JBL 6x9's 2012 Ram for 80 bucks sound great. he better have gotten them real cheap. STUPID is an understatement.

Yep a quick spacer made with a jigsaw and ply wood would've been a better idea.

Yeah --- I would have never done that. Add a spacer, install in rear, or fuggetaboutit.
