Actually, from what I understand, those tubes are may times stronger than the rubber hoses. Somewhere there were videos of them being run over by trucks.

Actully these guys run them on all kinds of cars and trucks some are dragsters and daily drivers and the glass is stronger then normal hose in fact they have a vid of a truck running over it and it not breaking and they also hammer a nail in with it. Go to there web site they have been installing these for years and not one has ever broke or leaked
