Hi guys. I am new to the forum and new to dodge trucks. Just picked up a 2004 Ramp Hemi Sport. I did not notice any noise until today.
I am no mechanic but I have never heard a knocking sound that is off and on like this. Anyone have any ideas? I don't think this has anything to do with it, but it is throwing a code for an o2 sensor, bank 1/sensor 1. Truck came with a superchips logger so I was able to easily get the code.

Thanks for the reply . Am I correct that engine knocking would not be off and on again like mine is doing? That is the impression I always had but never really listened to a car with a knock before. I'll say this, it freaked me out when I heard it, having just bought the truck

Wanted to add I just read the thread you kinked. That is not the issue I am having . It starts right up everytime . Drove fine on the ride home . I can't speak to how the power was as I had only driven it once before on a test drive . But it seems to run fine . I just noticed the noise in my video today after I pulled the code about the o2 sensor . The engine light was on which led me to check the codes.

P0131 O2 low means your bank 1 sensor 1 O2 has been too low for greater than 2 minutes. Basically, your left side O2 sensor before the catalytic has failed. Replace that O2 sensor and see if your knock goes away. I'm guessing since the PCM is seeing it so low, it may be dumping to much fuel in your left bank cylinders thinking the bank is running lean and that is the source of your knock. Just a guess though.

Personally, I replace all the O2 sensors if the vehicle is over 100k miles, they do wear out over time.

EDIT - I forgot the link, sorry about that.
