Right now my truck has a lot of wheel hop when gettin on it. I was lookin into gettin some tration bars, but I stumbled across these leaf spring clamps.

Calvert Racing 2.5 Spring Clamps [CalTracs 2.5 Spring Clamps] - $11.95 : 3rd Strike Performance!!, Mopar, GM and Ford Performance Parts-Aftermarket Accessories!!

I have read that these are supposed to fix the wheel hop when you have enough torque to make it hop, but once these don't hold up you get the traction bars....? Do those leaf spring clamps actually work?

From what I understand they do help, but not as much as traditional traction bars and I believe they also stiffen the rear suspension A LOT, which is why I never installed them on my '04.

This is a cheap (old school) way to stop wheel hop. Yes, they do work and will stiffen the rear suspension up. Been runing them for over 8 years on my Ram!

Maybe Kristin is just a better driver than you are. :********:

wheel hop has nothing to do with how good a driver you are

It does it on Main street, side roads, out in the country, it don't matter lol. It freakin hops like crazy and it's gettin annoying... The traction bars I want are damn near $400 for the low pro ones. I figure these $10 clamps will at least be worth shot.....

Hemibabe, this is exactly what I need on my ram! Something to keep my leaf springs aligned. Does the traction bars keep them aligned better?

Of course the traction bars will work better, they are $400 lol. But supposedly these work pretty well and eliminate wheel hop almost all together. It's worth a try.

And yep, I can't be spendin a whole lot right now cuz I just bought headers, new muffler and electric cutout all at once and goin to get it all put on this weekend so its kinda pricey and adds up pretty quick.....

What should I do in order to align my leaf springs and install these? My leaf springs are slightly starting to go out of alignment.

You'll still end up with wheel hop, Its because you have a RCSB, light rear end with a short wheel base = wheel hop, the quad cabs have a good bit more traction and less wheel hop because they have more weight distributed over a longer wheel base. Clamps barely did anything for me, do it right either get a set of caltracs or if you cant do them, lakeland makes a slapper bar setup for fairly cheap.

Alright, I have a guy local that is sellin some Caltracs for $300 brand new never been used, I just dont have the spare cash at the moment. Hopefully no one else is interested in em for a week or so and I can get em! :D

That makes sense why the quad cabs were sayin there's didnt hop around lol thanks for the help Ryan :)

If you want to try the clamps and see if they help and they are cheap enough that if they dont work you are not out a whole lot of time/money/effort then go for it, personally though, I'd save the cash and get some that are proven time and again to work.
