Common occurrence this why they now have four screws holding the light to the truck and they don't just sell a gasket for it so break out some sealant or spring for a new light and I think the after market stuff is waiting for a problem to happen again if you buy one

Not into the cab but getting water in housing. Need to see if that's a warranty repair. I'm still under 3/36000.... barely. Lol

Damn, didn't know it was that common of an issue.

Hopefully I can get it out without moving the shell back.

Thanks.

Pretty much all will leak eventually. Thin gasket that eventually fails.

I’ve replaced the high mount light a few times and each time I apply RTV silicon.

Creates such an intense seal that I broke one light removing it and scratched the truck many times haha so seal at your own risk!!!!!

Well, I resealed the 3rd brake light with the weather stripping in the other threads but I still have a leak.

What about the antenna back there? Are they prone to leak as well?

Nice little gap in the seal around the satellite antenna near the passenger rear on the roof. Use a plastic trim tool to lift the antenna up a bit and get some silicone under and around it. So far no leaks!!

You mention the passenger rear. What year is your truck? Because I only have a shark fin antennae on the drivers side rear...

But I did go to car wash and blowing water everywhere realized I somehow wedged water inside the back window. Assuming between the sliding glass. I sealed he 3rd break light so I don’t believe that would have caused some water to come in..

It's a 2010 crew cab. It has a square antenna over the right rear passenger area.

Ah interesting. I mean guess my shark fin could potentially be doing the same thing and truck sits parked a bit on an angle which could be why the water I see inside is more towards passenger rear. Guess I’ll wait until it becomes a bigger issue as it may be coincidence when I power washed the rear sliding window.

Is it, by chance, a Canadian truck? Those got the squares instead of the shark fins, as Sprint services for our trucks was not offered in Canada, so they didn't get the special cell antenna.

When I did my 3rd brake light (preventative, before I had any leaks) with the newer/improved 3rd brake light (later part revision), I sealed around the antenna as well with weatherstrip caulk/glue. No issues yet.

According to the VIN, Says that it was manufactured in Mexico.

Manufactured in
Saltillo, Mexico

I googled 2010 Dodge Ram and there are quiet a few square antenna trucks out there.

Grrr, just went and checked the truck and I still have a leak some where. The passenger rear headliner, window and seat head rest are wet and there is standing water on the rear window.

Sounds like we in same shoes. I believe it to be the sliding rear window. Believe it’s a known issue on these trucks.

I think Mopar came out with a new improved third brake light with a better gasket, The new 5 Gen trucks have 3 screws holding the light in place but 4 Gen don't. My advice is to buy a whole light set up including the light itself. My friend just had the problem and got a new third break light. They should really have a recall on this common problem. Also if getting new 3rd light you can install led bulbs ,because you don't want to close it up and open it again. He paid 68 bucks from Mopar for the light .
