So I have a ton of options in regard to lighting and I have done a fair amount of research of the subject but I would like some feedback regarding the aspect of diminishing returns.
I fish competitively which requires arriving at dark launch ramps in remote locations. I would like to add lights to both ends of the vehicle. I don't need to light up a vast desert and I would like lights that are functional in other locations such as parking lots and possibly even driving back roads.
I had considered the 18w pods replacing the factory fogs and also using the same type pods as aux reverse lights with all of these just being tied into the factory switches and reverse. I have also considered just adding a 20" or even 42" mounted in the lower insert area of the front bumper and a 20" under the hitch in the rear both wired to aux switches somewhere in the cab to only be operated manually.
I believe there is such thing as too much light when it comes to working around the boat ramp in complete darkness so will the pods be great or just good enough? are the 42" and maybe even the 20" complete overkill in all instances?
so should I go with 4 pods up front and 2 pods out back? or 20" front and rear? or 42" up front and 20" rear?
Please advise with your own experiences. Thank you
