hi all,
as you all may know from my frequent OCD posts I’ve been engaged in finding the perfect headlight/fog light combo. Well finally found it, GTR 55w 6000k HIDs for the low beams and Putco Nitro Lux LED for The fogs.

The exterior illumination is nothing short of awesome.

That said... for the fogs and the resistors, I found a tight little cubby hole right by the fog light housing that allows the resistor to fit very snugly. However on a recent road trip it came out and was dangling by its wire. Any suggestions on how to secure it inside the cubby hole?

Thx! Pics below on my latest setup.

Maybe send some pics of how you have them now? Depending on how you have them zip ties could work, that's what I used.

Zip Ties are plastic, and the resistors will eventually melt them.

You need to find a metal spot where you can mount them, even if only with one screw.

I've seen zip ties get brittle after time and a lot of temperature changes but I don't ever remember seeing one melt around something like a resistor.

No resistors in my truck for any of the lights, fog or otherwise. As stated by a previous poster, I installed LED in all my lights and then used AlfaOBD to connect to the body controller and set the lights to LED "YES" under car configuration. Easy peasy and no additional parts to fail or possibly melt surrounding plastic parts.

Get AlfaOBD and change the fogs to LED in the BCM then eliminate the resistors.

This.

Its amazing that people are still using resistors and special harnesses.
