So yesterday I ordered a 40" curved combo pattern light bar to go in my front bumper. I do not have the tow hooks, but there has to be a way to mount it in there. I have had the bumper off before so I know how all that is. Maybe someone has done this besides Weedahoe, if so, I can't find it.
I just can't stand the thought of paying 170 bucks for a roof mount. I know they are cut out to precision, but I can always add one later when they are on sale. Stay tuned, the bar is supposed to ship out tomorrow.

Plenty of people have put a bar down in the tow hook area...

Well I know that, what I'm saying is that the mounts you can buy are for 20 bars it seems, and they use existing row hook holes. But I will have to make my own holes in the brackets because there are none.

I believe there is a flare plate there that the tow hooks would bolt to
Most just drill through that plate and use the brackets that come with the bar, I don't believe there is any need to buy anything extra for a 40" without tow hooks

Well the ends of my bar have the two screw mount style rather than the one on each end with spline type setup. The slots are in the wrong place for me to mount the bar like I had planned. Looks like I'll have to modify the mounts or either make new ones. And to top it all off, they forgot to include the switch and wiring harness. They are supposed to be sending it though.

I don't have any of the brackets by themselves but I will get the best shot I can of them and post them.

Yea whatever picture you can get would be great! How hard of a job was installing/wiring? I am a complete noob to auto electrical, but want to install one of these.

It was not hard to wire at all. The only thing I modified on the harness that came with the lightbar was change the switch. It was a big cheap bulky one that mounted with sticky tape. I cut it off (1) to enable me to drill the smallest hole possible in the firewall and (2) install a better switch in the delete plate where some trucks have the power adjustable pedal switch. I am assuming you don't have tow hooks either?
