what would be the best way to mount a couple of led light cubes under the back of a 1500? Would rather not drill into the bumper.

Use the existing bolts already there and just slide a bracket under one of them

^ Seems like that bracket would prevent you from using your safety chain hook ups?

Nothing wrong with that bracket. I just preferred to have them tucked up slightly underneath and a little more hidden88cef610f379bc04cec5e7c06e57e61f.jpg

This is on 3500. Don't know if bumper mount is the same or not.
Added couple of L brackets under the bolts there.

I know you don't wanna cut holes. This is the best way I think looks really clean and don't hang down into space. Also I wired to my reverse wire on my trailer plug so they come on when I shift into reverse

Best way to cut the chrome bumper?

I had pictures at one time. I used blue masking tape. Taped off more area then I needed. Use a piece of cardboard as a template (of the size of hole and shape). Put cardboard on bumper. Make sure you look behind and double check for clearance. trace cardboard then drill hole in all corners of your pattern. I used a jig saw with a metal blade and connect the dots. Take a file and deburr if needed and spray some paint on cut edge.

This is with wood but some principal

Just used an “L” bracket from Home Depot and widened the hole so I could use an existing bolt. I’ll try and take a pic for u on my way to work
