I have all of my lighting set to turn on with vehicle control or switches, you have to add in relays and diodes so you don't back feed and fry your body controller.

So I can have one or the other hooked up, not both at the same time unless I use relays and diodes? I have led cargo lights and led pods, I'm a positive and negative type guy.... anything more and I get confused very easy lol.

You don't want to back feed reverse light circuit in dome circuit and vise/versa could cause havoc in pcm.

You do not NEED relays and diodes installed unless your wanting it to work a certain way like other members have stated.

I for example wanted ALL my lights (cargo, reverse and pods) to come on with my cargo switch or if I put it in reverse.

They even come on when I have both the cargo switch on and while in reverse with absolutely zero issues. Been like this for over 6 months now. Nothing fried or scrambled.

Again I used zero relays or diodes. Kept it simple.

Like I said, It can be done but to be on the safe side install relays/diodes or whatnot.

Do your interior lights come on in reverse?

I setup a switch panel with relays and diodes, cargo light and bed lights on one switch, reverse pods on another, then all my front offroad lights on 2 others.

OK so if I hook the lights up to the reverse wire on the seven pin and then run the cargo light wire to that same lights, is it going to work separately still? Again I'm no wiring guru lol if I can only do the one for now I'll do that.

My cargo light comes on with my interior lights or on a separate switch.

I'm an electronics specialist for Rush truck centers, so I've seen things back feed and cause severe issues, so i always suggest separation of circuits.

Yes and No...they should come on together.

At least the way mine work....both lights will come on without diodes installed.

Ahhh gotcha.

Yes, mine do the same.

Headlights, interior, cargo, reverse and pods come on with unlock button.

You don't by chance have a diagram you could show me? Your way is the way I'm looking to do mine.

Below is the link from when I did it. I posted it earlier somewhere else too.

That is exactly what I had in my head. I have ideas but for some reason I can't write them out lol. But thank you for the link. You wrote what was in my head lol.

I did this modification as well.

I used this kit: Turbo 2pcs 18w Flood Led Work Lights 3x3 Dually Flush Mount Cree Led Light Lamps Dually D2 Off Road 4x4 4wd Jeep Truck F150 Tacoma Bumper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y2CJ95O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_8RgDxbVJY5Z6Z

I followed the same details as the first post and it turned out good, I just need to install the foam backing.

I wired my reverse lights down to these and installed strobe flashers in my reverse light housing(separate mod). No problems at all wiring directly to the reverse lights, and I have another wire running to a switch in the cab in case I want to turn them on when I'm not in reverse.

7) Since the bumper face isn't 100% flat I used foam/rubber as a gasketing material to seal up light bezel to bumper face
8&9) Foam rubber cut and slid onto light

where did you get the "foam rubber" from? is it called anything specific?

I ran my Cargo light and my reverse lights to the feed of the LED pods in the rear bumper. I installed a one way diode on the cargo and the reverse light feed. That way, no back/cross lightning will happen.

I'm trying to wire up some LED reverse light Pods but like someone else said, I want to be able to turn them on as work lights too. If I wire them into the reverse pin of my trailer harness, will I still be able to use them at will without the truck being in reverse or will they only get power in reverse. If I utilize the 3 position switch that is.

I just did what you are describing and I just used a toggle switch. Wired the LED positive to the trailer reverse and the LED negative to the ground. Put a resistor in place of the factory reverse harness. Ran another wire from the LED positive to a toggle on/off switch running from the battery. I can use them whether the truck is on or off, or they come on when I'm in reverse.

So you do have a 3 position switch?

I'm thinking about running my reverse power from the reverse pin and then my regular 12v power from the top right pin.(wiring diagram shows that as aux 12v) so judging by that I shouldn't have to run any wires to my battery. Anyone have any suggestions/concern?
