I found a set of no error code red led bulbs at my local parts store. These are red. Probably going to get them in white as I think they might actually work better in the red lenses. Anyway they do work and I have yet to see a bulb out or quick flash of the turn signals. Will update pics when it gets dark outside. This is a temporary fix until I get some fundage and get some nice LED lenses.

Pics of what? I dont run LED bulbs in my ram tails... i Have the OEM LED already. Backup bulb isn't a concern... if I did backup lights I would do LED cubes or bar under the bumper.

In my 1987 firebird I swapped every bulb to high powered LED and I can't describe how much brighter it was. I didn't do resistors as I just opted to get LED flasher modules instead.

Heres what happens when you put a white LED behind a red lense, vs a red LED behind a red lense. http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/electric/pics/led4.jpg

Sad to say but just checked outside and the stock bulbs are actually brighter. Also the difference when the turn signal / brake is applied is minimal. These bulbs are a no go.

Ya the only real way to get bright tails is the oem led setup. I tried some aftermarket LED bulbs in my oem housings and they didn't perform very well either.

Told ya! Those chips aren't great. You need the high powered ones... they will be brighter trust me. I don't have a comparison. But the bulbs I posted are like the ones I got. This was a screen shot from a video. If u don't know the 3rd gens firebird/camaro the tail lights are horribly dim. And these lenses have been tinted over stock. I would say 2x brighter.
