I guess 'boost' isn't the right term to use but I can't think of the proper term for it. I'm currently making 13psi with my setup and I have a 9.6:1 CR which means my initial combustion air pressure is 125psi, with a CR of 13 I would see an initial combustion air pressure of 169psi. The higher initial combustion pressure will create more power once it's ignited and will also have a higher exhaust gas velocity. The ethanol would be able handle the detonation resistance required to not ignite prematurely at that pressure when compared to gasoline.
Ah, I see what you're saying. Normally higher compression motors make less PSI in the intake manifold because the motor sucks air faster, meaning less back pressure, but the final compression of the air/fuel mixture in the cylinder is higher. Same amount of air and fuel goes in, but the higher compression means a higher percentage is burned, meaning more POWWAAA!!
