I recently bought a 1999 dually 2wd with an 8ft Utility body. I pulled off the utility body and going to build a custom flat bed. The height difference between the front bed mount and rear of frame is 2 5/8. Can't say for sure I was on total level ground when I measured, but it was close.
Front bed mount height: 28 3/4
Rear frame height: 31 3/8
So if I lift the front (spring spacers), the height of rear frame should come down and help level the the 2 points.
So if I measure the height of fender well and jack the front up so it is X inches higher, is that the same effect as the spacers...so I can see what a 2-3 inch lift will do or will the lift settle and not be exactly X inches?
What size lift will I need to worry about replacing other parts because the lift was too much for stock components? I'm thinking 2.5 - 3 lift.
Does anyone know what the stock distance from front center wheel to fender well was with 215/ 85r16 tires? Just curious if the front is sagging.
