I picked up a 2.5 HBS leveling kit. Decided to put it in today but it is not going well. First of all I am doing it out side in minus 37 weather. An I got it all apart when I was pulling the spring out I pulled out the cv. I got that back in but I cant reconnect the A arm. I tried jacking it up to connect it but it lifts up the truck and the nut just spins on it.

if you can not hold the bottom of the nut with a wrench or a vise grip ,you will have to grad it with the vise grip on the shaft of the nut right under the boot but above the top of the a arm. it is not ideal but it was my only option doing mine if you get a strong enough grip it will not damage or grove the stem.

get a pry bar and hold down the A arm until you can get the nut on far enough to put a wrench on the bottom of the ball joint stud and just tighten the nut up, it will pull the arm into place. use some lube, it should help some. when i took my truck apart the cv fell out too, the bs 10 cent metal clip let the shaft slip out. it sounds like you may not have the cv all the way back in correctly.

Clean the treads on the ball joint too. There is most liekly dirt in them causeing the nut your trying to put on to be stiff thus spinning the ball joint.

if you still can't get it to come done, mark the alignment cams and loosen them, do not remove and it should go back together alot easier. that is how I had to get the last rc kit back in because of those stupid bolts they use.

honestly i would say go to autozone and get a coil compressor. They have free rental(just require a refundable deposit). I only have 2" level kit and there was no way we would have gotten it back in without a coil compressor. As you found out you have to keep the lower a arm up high enough to keep the cv joint from coming out.

I have a similar situation. 2007 Dodge Ram Big Horn, Procomp 2.5 strut spacer, and Moog ball joints. Using a pry bar on the upper control arm to get the nut on the ball joint works. After getting it almost seated in the knuckle I loosened the compressor and let the jack down just to find the spring doesn't expand far enough to let the compressor out. Also in this lower position the upper control arm and ball joint are at extreme angles that bind up the ball joint so that the knuckle will not turn.
