So first and foremost im a new RAM owner amd 1st time forum user. Im looking for some good inputs on what to do with my 2014 Ram 1500 Crew Cab. I want a lift but i dont have the money for a 4" lift which, im guessing, should be accommpanied with different wheels than factory. So for now i was thinking a 2" leveling kit. INPUTS please?

Bils up front set at 2.1” ... Then when you can afford a full blown lift, you can still use the Bils with it

I have Bilstein 5100's on my truck. That is the best way to go for a leveling kits. Before and after picks.

If it’s only 2”, Rancho quick lift kit will be way easier to install as you have nothing to disassemble other than take off the stock struts and shocks and slap the new ones in, not counting you can set them to ride as soft as stock if you wanted or more firmer totally up to you, plus the Ranchos will also give you almost 3.75” droop travel at that heigh compared to the billies 5100 which seem to be the shorter adjustable height strut you can run in this trucks. 2” of droop travel at its highest clip.

If you want more than 2” lift then you could go with Eibach struts and their 2.75” front springs/1” rear coils.

What's droop travel?

I've been thinking about the Ranchos because the adjustable ride seems like a good option, but since there are so many fans of the Bils there isn't a ton of information on here about them.

How much downtravel you have in your struts after lifting, Icon recommends to have no less than 2" for their CO's or the ride will suffer. And judging by what Bistein also factors in the 5100 design (2" at their highest clip), i'd think that number should be the bare min we should have for the suspension to function as designed. 5100's are not a bad option just in case as they're not outside of the specs needed to maintain proper geometry regardless of the clip you set them at.
I'm not a Bisltein 5100 fan and ive had those in many other apps, my Silverado 1500 CC stil have a set of them though not for very long, i'll replace those with Rancho QL's.
