I have a 2017 that currently has a 6 lift and I wanna bring it down to start towing camping trailer. What are some things I’ll need (don’t want to forget something and I’ve never lowered before). I know I’ll need different brake lines but what else might be forgotten or any tools that will help.

Thanks first dodge and first post on here.

As ‘ram1500rsm’ mentioned….. ”down to what height?”

Are you wanting to lower strictly for the fact you want to tow? Or are there any other reasons?

If it’s strictly because of towing, then as ‘MCas86” offered, look at some drop hitches. Curt, B&W, and Fastway will be your big names to look into.

Im lifted to 7” and use the Fastway for varied heights, and a Curt WDH for an enclosed car trailer.

A new hitch will certainly be more cost effective, just make sure it’s rated for the weight you intend to tow :waytogo:C6612580-F346-4A5C-9E84-93F2CC9F5AB7.jpeg630ED071-3919-47D3-85F0-C0FB8788F942.jpeg47BDAD53-7889-492E-A316-BF18D2E622A3.jpegA1008CFA-6C72-4439-8D07-74357E4B4954.jpeg

I’ve heard that a 5th wheel and lift don’t mix well. Worried about flipping.

A 5th wheel doesn’t change the geometry as long as the trailer / 5th wheel is level …. all things are equal then.

The fact that a truck is taller than when it comes out of the FACTORY will always change the center of gravity and possess the possibility of flipping…… though that really comes down to the a$$ hole behind the wheel and how they are driving, and not so much what’s behind them :waytogo:

Thanks you. New to lifted. Love the height just got kids and wanna be safe
100% :waytogo:

I actually find that sitting up higher gives me a better visual of what’s coming up a head, thereby making it safer by reacting sooner if needed.

Just don’t do 80 on a 30mph off ramp and you’ll be fine.
