I might be interested in a better suspension lift next year. I already have Bils at 2.8, and a 1.5" zone body lift. I MUST fit in the garage, which has a 7' high opening. I'm running 35x12.5 tires on 20x10 wheels. Given all that, what do you think I can put on the truck and still get in the garage? I'm willing to drop the bils to get some of the smoother ride back, and fit in the garage.

TIA!

Best way to determine what you can do, is to pull your truck into your garage. Stop several times as you go under the door opening and take some measurements between your roof and door opening.

Also keep in mind that the angle at which you approach your door can have an effect on how much clearance you have. For example, I clear my 7’ garage door by just under 2”, but that is partly due to my garage apron being lower than the garage floor. It lets the truck enter at an upward angle. But the parking garage at work with 7’ clearance, I only clear by about 1” because it’s entrance is flat and level.

BDS 6” kit with 3” rear coils or Zone 6”. Don’t use the preload spacer and set bils at 0.0”. This will give you 5” front lift and depending what your stock rake was about 5.75” rear lift. It will clear 35’s and fit in your garage and ride smooth with bils at 0.0”

My truck is currently 85-3/8” to top of shark fin with the 37’s. If I switched to the above lift settings and ran 35’s or 325’s, that would lower me approx 3” and would clear the 84” door opening.

I like the sound of that! I have rear spacers, so I can compensate for rake. Now I have to get over the price tag.

will my body lift get in the way though? That's an extra 1.5" I lose.

@BOWERSFJ and I are suggesting the same amount of lift, we just get there a different way. If he fits with 2” to spare and add your 1.5” BL, your gonna be to close for comfort with either a 4” or 6”.

Here's the measurements I'm working with.

original measurements:
Before ground to fender straight up center of the wheel
LF: 36.25" RF: 36.75"
LR: 39 RR: 38.5

My fender measurements are now 41 3/4 front, and 42 1/2 rear- both left and right are the same- that's with the new wheels/tires.

I have 3 inches of clearance- I just measured with the fin right below the garage door threshold rubber.

Maybe just swap the zone body lift for a PA 3” and you’ll gain 1.5” and still fit in the garage

my goal is to get back a smoother ride by dropping the bils down. I think the 6" bds or zone suspension lift will put me where I am now plus a little bit left to spare and a better ride. The bils pre-loaded at 2.8 makes it harsher on the ride on the crappy Wisconsin roads.

5” proposed front lift
+2.75 current lift
____
2.25” lift increase

3” current clearance
-2.25” increase
____

.75” approx new clearance

These numbers all depend on your Bils 2.75” lift, if it’s actually a little less then it reduces the .75” new clearance.

You could add the lift and see if it fits, if it doesn’t you’ll have to remove the BL and sell it here.

Your other option is to try the eibach coils on your bils set at the lowest position, the coils alone add lift

It’s funny, you don’t realize it untill you want it “ Dammit- We can’t go through the drive through” or “Hunny we can’t fit in the parking garage, I know it’s 125 out” lol, word to the wise, if you lift it, always always check ur roof after you pick your truck up from a shop/valet/ Brothers house- Anywhere someone else could of driven your truck and not thought about the lift as they where toolling around... and you would never know...

Or the second slot and get 3.5” overall lift with the Eibach coils/5100 combo. That’s my plan after Christmas (Eibach coils at all corners with either Eibach matched rear shocks or Icon extended shocks).

You live in Wisconsin.... Don't forget to shovel your driveway every time you pull it into the garage, or you might just end up with an unintended convertible.

Just a tip for a simple warning device ... Pull the little ball off, trim your antenna about a 1/2” higher than your shark fin, and gorilla glue the ball back on ... If you pull in some place, and that thing moves, hit the brakes, and back up before you mod something you don’t want modded
