I recently pulled lifters on my 5.7 hemi. Rollers were all seemingly fine. I noticed that there were a handful of them I could compress the rod seat with my finger, and others that I could not compress the plunger/rod seat at all. Not even with a rod in a vice pressing against with good force. Figured that was why it ran so noisy, so I purchased a new set. Supposedly mopar, but from eBay so who knows. And only 2 out of the 8 brand new, am I Actually able to compress the plunger on. I assume I should be able to compress all of them, I don’t know enough about these things to know if this is normal. I don’t want put them in if they’re defective. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Still doesn’t answer my question. Should they or should they not all compress?
