I have wanted a truck for 5 years. Finally made it through college and got a good job that paid enough for a Ram! I'm the second owner and it appears the first may have leveled the truck. Seems to sit 1-2" higher than most of the other rams I see. Because I drive 75 miles a day, a lift isn't super practical. But I do alot of hunting which requires me to do a bit of trail riding and minor off road stuff. So I want a light bar...but I also don't want to look like a complete moron because I'm not lifted. I've seen some grille mounted lights and other low profile bars but I'm not sure I'll like it.
Does anyone have pics of their trucks with a light bar? Looking for some suggestions on brands as well59a4ad26825a97f40cc06d433a9c1d10.jpg27a270c794217170ae8d2d29acc29cc5.jpg

I know it probably doesn't mean much, but don't worry about looking like an idiot. I know people that have 2wd trucks with light bars. Light bars serve many purposes outside of the stereotypical "jacked up" truck look.

Aside from that, I think your truck especially would look good with a light bar on the grill or the top of the truck. Brands are personal preference. Rigid is expensive but they sell good stuff with a great warranty.

You could also get the pod/cube spotlight style lights and mount them on your windshield wiper cowl. Those are lower profile but just as useful.

You could always mount two 7" light bars behind your grill like I did. Out of slight until you need them.

since you want the light bar for trails and will want good light output I would suggest not going behind the grille. during testing of light bars behind the grille I saw that a behind the grille light bar only provided 60% of the output that the same one provided in front of the grille. I would look into a bumper mount light bar like nfab or something similar and then put a quality light bar of choice like Rigid. This will get the light bar in a position to give you usable light that isnt blocked by anything.

We sell all these items and many other similar options. If we can help you in any way please feel free to reach out to me in a PM. Also dont forget we offer discounts on everything to our memebers

How about a Bull Bar with a light bar. I do not own a bull bar but there are some that look good.

Another option would be the pillar lights that mount to the hood hinges and then you can do some LED spots.

I put mine behind the grille. A 28” bar fits perfectly

I wouldn't worry about looking like an idiot. First off you got a good looking truck and no matter what you decide as long as you install it well and looks professional and not half assed no one will think you ridiculous. I just installed my light in my bull bar. Maybe a little overkill but I like the look, think it makes it more aggressive. No sense in pleasing everyone else as long as you dig it. There are also basic license plate mounts that allow up to a 20" light bar. Can typically find them under $40 on Amazon

I would put the lights either behind the grill or where the tow hooks would be in the bumper if it were me. On the roof looks like doodoo IMO.

You say you drive 75 miles a day for work, i'm gonna assume that's highway. A lightbar on your windshield is gonna howl like a ************.

Mine is not a Light bar(Check my Signature).
Me think mine look stupid because it's only creates a wind drag and it is not an off-road truck :Stupid Me:
But I like it when I use along non-pave road.

Several guys ask me what is the purpose of that light(maybe a sarcastic question).
My answer is I am afraid of the dark. :naughty::naughty::naughty:
