My '04 Ram 1500 lamp out light indicator bell keeps sounding and the lights are not burned out. A dodge mechanic told me this is because I used aftermarket bulbs in my RAM. Anyone else believe this guy?

I have the same thing going on and YES, I used different bulbs. My neighbor has a 3/4T '03 and his does this too with all regular filament bulbs. He told me he put a piece of black tape over the light on the dash so he could ignore it while he's driving. I don't think I'll be doing that haha. I didn't have this problem when I first switched over to LEDs and I used resistors on all the lights. The lights are all still working fine so I don't believe a resistor burnt up. It doesn't bother me so I just ignore it and make sure that's all it says each time I start it. Good luck
