Light load button - placebo?

No really, how does this thing really work? I lower my pressure, get the old ( ! ) Butt crack light with TPS display telling me to air up. I press the button for light load on center dash and nothing happens except the button flashes for few second and goes out. Butt crack ( ! ) remains.

I gave up on this. I used my AEV Pro Cal to make this warning shut up. The light load button seems to do nothing on my truck.
