I'm sure there are some posts regarding this, but im not having any luck with the search.
I have a 2017 longhorn limited. I've noticed a couple of the big "RAM" letters had started to peel a little last year. Recently I also saw the chrome belt on the passenger door has started to let go in a big way. These things are crazy expensive so I'm wondering what the best way to re-stick these things in place is without removing them and reapplying some type of adhesive is. Or if it's just safer to strip the failing pieces off and put some trim adhesive on them.
My worry is that the 3M trim tape I've used before only seems to work good with a lot of pressure and I'm not sure how I would clamp the letters if I did those.

I would remove the trim on the tailgate with dental floss and just put new 3M tape on it and then put them back on. I would try the same thing with the side trim. If for some reason you can't get the side trim off without messing it up you can buy new or just leave it off completely. I had the factory chrome side trim on both my previous Rams and it hasn't come off yet on my old 2015, still looks new and it has 100K miles on it. Looks to me like the surfaces weren't prepped correctly by the original installer.

This is just me but I would send me that tailgate and ill send you mine. You won't have to worry about that "RAM" coming off again. I'd do that for you since were fam. Ramfam.

I agree with @tidefan1967 with using floss. Works very well. Good luck.

i debadged the rest of the truck already. I dont know if you have seen the price on that chrome belt. But to order those 9 (?) pieces, ram will stick you for almost $1300. Those damn letters are over $100 a piece, which is just insane to me lol. After staring at that lower chrome for a while the other day, I came to the conclusion that its just not installed in the correct spot. And being ever so slightly off, puts some of it into the curve which is highly problematic as you can see. So removal is the only way to go with it. I dont like the idea of having to go into that curve with anything to saw out the glue, but.....gotta do it someday lol

You got me there. Well it was worth a shot. To make the removal easier/cleaner you could go over it with a heat gun then run the fishing line. That's what I did which didn't leave so much adhesive behind.

Yeah, that's what I did for the badges on the side. The trick was to only warm then a little bit. If they get hot it's a gooey nightmare lol.

Dang a limited and a sport. I wish I had your problems. I do like those rims on your sport though.
