I’m hard on my gear and have a couple of crazy exes haha, but mainly tho I travel a ton of gravel roads. I was just going to get the lower 3” as well as wheel arches, inner fender wells and custom bumpers sprayed with regular line x, however I’m really liking what I see of their ultra product line and am seriously considering doing the whole truck as the build is heading in a overland/expedition rig.
Has anyone done this? Any ballpark on the cost? Any input is appreciated, thanks.

In canada, a guy paid 5k to get an f150 completely done. This included prep.

KC repping! I'm in OP.

I got an over the phone quote for the whole truck at 5k here. It's nothing that I'll consider doing for at least another 5 years, but was talking to a shop about some other stuff and decided to ask what that cost would be around.

Northlander here all my life. The Ford I seen was on 152 hwy in Liberty. I did Line X in my last Ram bed in 2007 and it was close to $500 so a whole truck with prep can't be cheap.

A lot of trucks have been done like this, I'd say is there a pressing issue that makes it time to do, because you can always do this, but I'd personally wait til the truck is already scratched to hell and back. The issue is over time it just fades, so the longer you put off doing it the longer it will be before you are driving a faded bed liner truck. By all means do rockers and stuff, if you went full linex those can easily be scraped off and redid.

Due to the crazy exes I have multiple dents and have had a door repainted and it’s a little off. And I have practically chewed the paint off the wheel arches at this point and the good chunk of the rocker bottoms. I’ve sent some emails and have been waiting for quotes to come back.
I’ve seen a few on google but none in person. I like what I see on most and if I can get it done for 3500 ish I’m going to pull the trigger.

Truck is black so I think I’ll stick with that but a metallic dark grey could be a nice change but then I’d need to do something with the door jambs.

speaking from experience I don't recommend it. I did it to my 06 cummins a few years ago and when it was first done it was amazing. everyone asked if they could touch it and took pics of it. I thought I had finally accomplished that one amazing thing that made it stand out. then time went by and the black faded and nothing seemed to make it shine like it first did. It just started to make me angry every time I saw it so I ended up selling it. for the record though I used Durabak and did it myself it wasn't line-x but from the research iv'e done it happens to all of the bedliners.

Great feedback from someone that actually did it. How long did it take before it began fading? Did you put ArmorAll or any other treatment on it? Do you have pics from right before you sold it?

I will look for more pics tonight when I get home from work but it was about a year. I tried different products such as the armorall and tire shine and it looked good for a few days but it seemed to speed up the fading process. you may have different results with a different color and maybe some clear coat over it but that would more then likely fail as well. but it was a head turner at first. all the texture picked up the light and made it almost look like it had a metal flake in it. If it would stay like the day I put it on I wouldn't of ever got tired of it.

Thanks for the input but as I read it line x has addressed the fading with UV protection incorporated into the ultra line of products. And if I remember correctly when I had my old truck bed done they had them as well and my bed held up well I thought to fading.

But I would love to back up the manufacturer claims with someone who has used the ultra linex for an extended period of time.
