I like the idea, refreshes the memory on what all you've owned over the years!
My first car was a sweet two tone 1981 Chevy El Camino, complete with 8 track player. And this was in 1996!
Bought a 1996 GMC Sonoma later that year.
2 years later, upgraded to my first "real" car, a 1998 Firebird Formula.
Joined the Navy later that year, and my first real duty station sent me over to Japan, so the Firebird stayed behind with family, and bought a 1993 Nissan Skyline while over there.
While over there, got married (to a fellow North Carolinian), so inherited her 2000 Ford Mustang.
Came back to the states in 2003, and 2 years later had our first kid. Mustangs and Firebirds aren't real kid friendly vehicles, so we bought a new Explorer Sport to lug the rugrat around in.
Basically got out of the sports car world shortly before traveling across country from San Diego to Charleston, when we traded in the Explorer Sport and both cars, for a brand new Explorer and a Chrysler Pacifica in 2005.
In 2008, got orders back to Japan, so those 2 went back and stayed with family. Picked up a Nissan Ipsum (minivan-ish type Japanese vehicle) and a BMW 3 series as our cars for that tour.
Came back stateside in 2013, and rolled with the Explorer and Pacifica until I got orders a couple hours south of the house, to Norfolk in 2017.
With me making that drive home and back each weekend, I picked up a diesel Jetta for its 45+mpg.
Had all 3 of those until a couple months ago, when in a matter of 3 months, both the Explorer and Pacifica were totaled by my wife (1 her fault, the other not). So, she upgraded to a new Toyota Highlander...
I've been rocking that Jetta (268k miles and counting), while being patient looking for a good deal on a Ram. Finally found it a couple days ago, and closed the deal 2 days ago. Now own my first "real" truck, a 2018 1500 Limited...
That puts me at a lucky 13 vehicles owned in my lifetime! Not bad for 24 years as a licensed driver, I guess...
Cool thread, and the walk down memory lane!
