I'm planning on throwing a probox with 2 jl audio w3 in the crew can this weekend. What I wanted to know was what loc are ya using and if anyone knows where's the best place to tie it into.. Also, I haven't bought anything yet, so if somebody has a better sub or box recommendation I would like to hear it.. Thanks

I like Audiocontrols LC2i for a basic LOC that will give you clean signal. The type of LOC is going to depend on what stereo you have. If it is the alpine system you will need something a little more extensive so you can defeat the bass rolloff that happens when you turn it up loud, because the stock amp with adjust the bass lower to save the speakers. Best thing for W3s is build your own box to about 1 cube and don't expect earth shattering bass as they are geared more towards SQ rather than pure output.

ah well a regualr loc can work when going off the sub channel but you still get the rolloff issue.

Is there a better set of wires to tap for the sub signal on the Alpine setup? I have been looking at the wiring diagrams but honestly I can't believe a breathing person would design an audio system this way???

Nope from what I understand of it is if you want full signal you need to summon at least three speakers and if you want left and right channels you need to summon six channels

No problem if you are willing to try tuning PPI DSP 88R is a good cheap option to try for a processor

I will look into that one. Not really a money thing, just not sure how deep I want to dig into this. Reading all these custom build threads is not helping any that's for sure LOL!!!
